The Archives of the Bohemian Crown is the most precious historical archival group in the Czech Republic. It was declared as a National Cultural Heritage. For this reason it is donated by special care concerning storage and all the manipulation.
At this time the digitising of the seals is running. During this activity there is always conservator of the National Archives assisting the photographer to guarantee save course of digitising. The conservator removes the charters from the cases of foil of the Melinex type in which there are storage and prepares them for photographing. At the same time the conservator checks the condition of all the seals and notices results into the form, which was created for this purpose. After digitising and descripting of seals by archivists, the conservator deposits the charters back into the melinex cases and the charters are put back to the safe. During the digitising the conservator also checks the value of temperature and humidity in the rooms in which the digitising and description take place.
Cooperation of archivists and conservators is very useful to ensure appropriate conditions and safety of charters and seals.
